Took me three attempts with no collaboration! That’s definitely a new definition of “News In Brief”. Also an advert, I’d say, for justified paragraphs with first-line indent…

Blymie. The reporter who wrote this must have followed Mr Kelvin MacKenzie’s advice: no degree, no NCTJ, no problema babe; you can learn how to write in a newsroom in a month, yeah, so easy.

Shocking, isn’t it! I showed it to my flatmate and asked if she understood it. She said: “I do, just, but I’m surprised I hadn’t heard that Rio Ferdinand had been shot – I would’ve thought that would be bigger news.”
